Eichler

This Palo Alto residence by renowned builder Joseph Eichler, built in 1973, had the kitchen and master suite redone.  Careful attention was made to ensure the remodel would integrate well with the spirit of the existing structure.  The kitchen was reconfigured with the sink cabinet “floating” on the exterior glass wall, further decreasing the boundaries between indoor and outdoor space.  Walnut veneers were selected for the cabinetry to complement the owner’s collection of Eames furniture.  The Master suite includes a fully remodeled master bath.  Dornbracht bowls are placed on top of the cabinet.  Glass mosaic tiles unify the built-in shower with the adjacent floor and walls.  The gallery cabinets function as both a visual termination for the space and as a vessel for the home computer and CD/DVD collection.
